DOHA: Renowned composer and musician Yanni Chrysomallis (pictured) and his troupe is set to perform for the first time in Qatar.

The two-day musical event, organsied by Bandera Qatar, will see Yanni unleashing his live musical extravaganza at the 2,300 capacity theatre of the Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC) on March 23 and 24.

“Yanni has close to 80,000 fans in the Middle East and since Qatar is known to host premium events and concerts, we felt that we should have at least two shows here. We want to give as many Yanni fans as possible the chance to see and hear him perform live,” a spokesperson from Bandera Qatar said.

Under the theme, ‘World Without Borders’, Yanni, has performed around the world, including sold-out crowds at the Acropolis, Taj Mahal and China’s Forbidden City (he was the first western performer to play at the latter two).

Yanni’s contemporary symphonic music has inspired millions of fans around the world. In concert, his passionate, soaring melodies and lush orchestration has always succeeded in creating a spirited and uplifting musical experience like no other.

“We are happy to bring a world class event to Qatar. The beauty of bringing world famous musicians like Yanni to Qatar is that they further serve in putting the countries they are performing in on the musical map of the world,” a spokesperson of Bandera Qatar said. Tickets are priced at QR250, QR500 and QR1,000 and QR2,000.
