UAE air defenses intercept 6 ballistic missiles, 131 drones

Doha, Qatar: Ministry of Defense of the United Arab Emirates said that it detected seven ballistic missiles of which six were intercepted and destroyed, while one landed within the territory on Thursday, March 5, 2026. 

The Ministry added that 131 drones were also detected, with 125 intercepted and 6 landing within UAE territory.

"Since the start of the blatant Iranian aggression, 196 ballistic missiles have been detected. Of these, 181 were destroyed, 13 landed in the sea, and 2 landed within UAE territory," the Ministry said in a statement. 

Furthermore, 1,072 Iranian drones have been detected, 1,001 of which were intercepted, while 71 landed within UAE territory. Eight cruise missiles have also been detected and destroyed.

Providing data on casualties, the Ministry said the attacks resulted in three deaths of Pakistani, Nepalese, and Bangladeshi nationals, and 94 minor injuries of Emirati, Egyptian, Ethiopian, Filipino, Pakistani, Iranian, Indian, Bangladeshi, Sri Lankan, Azerbaijani, Yemeni, Ugandan, Eritrean, Lebanese, Afghan, Bahraini, Comorian, and Turkish nationals.
