Doha: Aspire Zone’s Ramadan Sport Festival continued on Thursday evening with four competitions.
Participating teams impressed spectators with high scores in men’s basketball, men’s football, women’s handball, and junior boy’s football.

Men’s Football
The first round of matches was marked by high scores.
‘Joel’s Friends beat ‘Nojoom Alsamba’ 5-1, while ‘Almoheeb’ and ‘Makkin’ tied 2-2. ‘Kafoud’ scored two goals against ‘Argentine’, who were unable to score any points. ‘Azghawa’ defeated ‘The Predators’ in a 5-1 victory.
The first round of football games continue until Tuesday and quarterfinals start on Wednesday.

Junior Boys Football
In the first match of day two, ‘Simba’ beat ‘Madrid’ 3-2. Audiences were impressed during the second game as ‘Al Helal’ scored nine goals against two by ‘Alnassar’. ‘PSG’ had a landslide victory against ‘Touch’, with 6-0. The last match of the evening was played between ‘The Crusaders’ and ‘Al Arabi’ and the latter won 6-2.
The Ramadan Sport Festival is a demonstration of the zone’s dedication to offering sporting opportunities to men, women, and children of all ages with athletic abilities.
It is also the only tournament in Doha that offers junior teams opportunity to compete in a tournament during the holy month.

Men’s Basketball
Teams which competed on the second day of the basketball tournament faced stiff competition from opponents.
The first match of the evening left the audience on the edge of their seats as ‘Philippines’ scraped through to the next round by one point, beating the ‘Falcons’ 21-20.
The next match saw ‘Pinoy Xpats’ defeat ‘Oryx’ 38-33.
The greatest surprise came from ‘Home Boys’, who managed to play catch up to ‘J Gwim’, finishing 56 to 36.
Finally, ‘Gallops’ beat veteran team ‘Al Shaqab’ 16-11.
The competition continues until tomorrow, and teams will go face-to-face in finals in a bid to be crowned the Aspire Ramadan Sport Festival champions.

Ladies Handball
The atmosphere in the Ladies Sports Club was electric as teams fought hard in games, displaying incredible talent.
‘Mushaireb’ were able to compensate for their loss against ‘Al Jasra’ on Wednesday evening by defeating ‘Al Daayen’ 28-16.
This is the second loss for ‘Al Daayen’, who also lost their first game against ‘Al Bedaa’ on Wednesday.
Qatari schoolgirl, Samira Al Abdullah from ‘Al Daayen’, said: “I’ve been playing handball for three years, and enjoy the game.
“My sister is also participating in the festival with another team. We are enjoying the experience as we get to compete against each other in friendly games. I hope my team wins though!” To learn more about festival activities and events, please visit: www.lifeinaspire.qa.
