London: An earthquake measuring 5 on the Richter scale struck on Tuesday the South Sandwich Islands, one of the British overseas territories in the South Atlantic Ocean.
The European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) reported that the earthquake occurred at a depth of 10 kilometers.
So far, there have been no reports of material or human damage.
