MUSCAT: The 16th International Scout Gathering for Cultural Exchange is due to kick off at the auditorium of the Ministry of Education Thursday.
The function to be held under the theme of "Our Heritage; Bridges for Understanding and Building the Future", will run to Sept.13th.
The opening ceremony of the event will be held under the patronage of Mustafa bin Ali bin Abdul Latif, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education for Administrative and Financial Affairs in the presence of a number of officials at the Arab Scout Organization and Oman National Commission for Education, Culture and Science.
Participants from 35 countries, namely Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Lebanon, Kuwait, Libya, Bahrain, United Arab Emirates, Syria, Tunisia, Algeria, Sudan, Palestine, Qatar, Malaysia, Ghana, Senegal, Uganda, Pakistan, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Tanzania and the United Kingdom will take part in the event alongside with the Sultanate's scouts.
