DOHA: Qatar Central Bank plans to issue 3 billion riyals or $824 million worth of local currency government bonds and 1 billion riyals of sukuk next week, it said on Thursday.
The debt to be issued on Sept. 10 and will include three-year and five-year tranches of both conventional and Islamic bonds, the central bank said.
Qatar, which pegs its riyal currency to the U.S. dollar, launched quarterly government bond sales in March to expand the central bank's policy arsenal and help banks manage liquidity. (Reuters)
