Doha: The Quebec Immigration authorities have announced new changes which are set to benefit professionals such as nurses, machining technicians, and insurance and financial advisors.
The Canadian province enjoys the sole right of deciding upon the rules and policies of its province.
Quebec Immigration is a point based immigration system and there have been some changes made in the points allotted to many professions. All these changes have come in effect from August 1, 2013 and will remain till March 31, 2014.
“This change in the points awarded to various professions is a boon for those who wish to immigrate to Quebec and they should hurry up to make the most out of it before this narrow window of opportunities closes. Because of overall relaxed qualifying criteria, all those desirous of immigrating to Quebec should file their cases at the earliest Lt. Colonel B S Sandhu (retd), CMD, WWICS Group, said.
This is a new opportunity as the points awarded under the Area of Training to these professions have increased.
It will make it easier for them to obtain the qualifying points and they have an edge over other professionals. The qualifying score for a single person is 55 points and that for every married person is 63 points, whereas for applicants from the Francophone countries, the qualifying points are 49 and 57 for single and married people, respectively.
If the qualifying points are attained even without taking the French test, the applicant will qualify for filing his/ her immigration case. A maximum of 20,000 new applications under the programme for skilled workers will be accepted. So, all the skilled workers should hurry up and file their cases before the programme is capped.
Some other professionals who are in demand in Quebec are banking professionals, accountants, engineers- civil, construction, transportation, computer, metallurgical and materials, healthcare professionals, etc.
