Doha: The Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and the Father Emir H H Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani received scores of well-wishers on the occasion of Eid Al Adha at Al Wajba Palace last morning.
The Emir received their excellencies sheikhs, ministers, the Advisory Council speaker and his deputy, ministries’ undersecretaries, Advisory Council members and citizens.
He also received heads of diplomatic missions, officers of the armed forces and police, heads of national institutions and departments, and children from Qatar Foundation for Orphans, ‘Dhreima.’
Noted Islamic scholar and President of International Union for Muslim Scholars, Dr Yousuf Al Qaradawi was among those who called on the Emir.
The well-wishers congratulated the Emir, praying that Eid would bring blessings to the Qatari people and Arab and Islamic nations.
Sheikh Mohamed bin Khalifa Al Thani attended the reception.
Earlier, in the morning, the Emir and the Father Emir performed the Eid prayer at the Al Wajba praying area. H H Sheikh Mohamed bin Khalifa Al Thani took part in the prayer along with sheikhs, ministers, ambassadors and citizens.
Dr Thaqeel Sayer Al Shammari, Court of Cassation judge and Supreme Judiciary Council member, who led the prayer, delivered the Eid sermon, in which he urged the praying crowd to practise love and tolerance and benefit from Eid Al Adha by doing good deeds, maintaining ties of kinship and following the path of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).QNA
