DOHA: The Central Municipal Council yesterday launched a website to increase interaction between citizens and councillors on planning for the country.
The website www.cmcqatar.net was launched at the CMC headquarters just before the biweekly session.
Saud Abdullah Al Henzab, Chairman, said the website was like a house of democracy, being equipped with interactive facilities to allow the public to engage with Councillors and officials in providing suggestions.
“Every councillor will have a profile page, with a contact where the public can engage directly with their representatives,” he said.
Jaber bin Hamad Al Akhan, Secretary-General, explained to councillors how to use the website its facilities, including an archives of photos and videos related to on which sessions will be stored and available for the public to view. The website will also publish monthly programmes and other news.
