At a meeting on Monday, officials from manpower recruitment businesses urged him to crack down on unlicensed manpower agencies and individuals supplying manpower. All companies should hire workers through licensed agencies, they told the minister and urged him to ensure a widened role for them as hundreds of thousands of foreign workers are to be recruited for the development projects linked to the FIFA 2022 event, local Arabic daily Al Watan reported yesterday.
