Marco Casamento guides Jungle Monarch to victory in the Rowdat Rashid Cup at Al Rayyan Racecourse.
Doha, Qatar: Unbeaten Jungle Monarch made an impressive return to action, cruising to victory in the feature Rowdat Rashid Cup at the 7th Al Rayyan Race Meeting held at Al Rayyan Racecourse.
The bay gelding, who won all five of his starts last season, produced another impressive performance in the 1200m Thoroughbred Handicap (85-105). Tracking the leaders early, he unleashed a devastating turn of foot inside the final 300m to pull clear and win by three lengths.
Deputy Director of QREC Registration & Studbook Department Saad Ali Al Kubaisi presented the Rowdat Rashid Cup.
Owned by H E Mansoor bin Ebrahim Al-Mahmoud, Jungle Monarch’s victory completed a treble for trainer Jassim Al Ghazali and jockey Marco Casamento, who also combined to win with Hadi De Carrere and Kraar.
