Qatari stocks close Monday session 0.92% lower

Doha: Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) closed Monday down 98.61 points, or 0.92 percent to finish at 10,622.54.
Barwa and Qatar Fuel announced cash dividends per share of QR2.5 and QR7 respectively. This would represent a dividend yield of 6.29 percent and 4.4 percent respectively. Qatar Fuel also announced bonus shares of 9%. 
Barwa was the biggest loser in today's session, falling 8.69 percent to 36.25 on profit taking. Other notable laggards today were Qatar Cement and Aamal, which fell 4.32 percent and 2.98 percent. Today's biggest gainer was Medicare. It went up 5.7 percent after its board of directors issued an invitation to attend the general assembly on March 12 where its expected they will approve a cash dividend of QR3 per share. This would make the stock's dividend yield 3.44 percent. Commercial Bank was also up, by 2.52 percent to close at QR32.6. 
Today's volume was down to 12.54 million shares. Thursday's volume was 14.06 million. Value on the other hand was up to QR456.6 million, compared to Thursday's QR 449.4 million. The number of trades registered today was 4,622. Significantly lower than Thursday's 5,590 trades. 
The QE Index' performance year-to-date stands at 1.78 percent.
