DOHA: Katara has represented Qatar at the sixth ‘Festival of Traditional Culture’ known as Asrlar Sadosi (Echo of ages) which concluded in Uzbekistan yesterday.
“The aim of participating in such international celebrations is to identify the patterns of diverse culture and rich heritage of the peoples, which is extended throughout history, especially the people of Uzbekistan, that Uzbekistan is a home for great Muslim scholars, poets, philosophers Islamic clerics, rulers and leaders such as Imam Al Bukhari and Abu Nasr Al Farabi, Ibn Sina and Abu Al Qasim Zamakhshari and Prince Timor and others, who have left a brilliant impact on the history of Islamic civilisation,” said Katara General Director, Dr Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti.
Uzbekistan has trade relations since long time back with the Arab world, including the Gulf countries and Qatar. The events hosted by Uzbekistan this year in cooperation with Unesco includes fashion shows, photography exhibitions and artifacts exhibitions.
