Doha, Qatar: The Qatar University (QU) Health Sector successfully hosted its 10th Annual Research Symposium, under the theme ‘From Evidence to Impact: Research, Innovation, and Policy for Better Health.’
The symposium brought together distinguished researchers, healthcare professionals, faculty members, students, and representatives from leading academic, healthcare, and research institutions across Qatar. Marking a decade of commitment to research excellence and scientific advancement, the event provided a dynamic platform for showcasing innovative research, exchanging scientific knowledge, and strengthening interdisciplinary and interinstitutional collaborations.
The symposium featured welcome remarks by Vice President for Health and Medical Sciences at QU; Prof Asmaa Al-Thani; Prof Jassim Al Suwaidi, Chief of Scientific, Academic and Faculty Affairs at Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC); and Prof Aiman Erbad, Vice President for Research and Innovation at QU.
In her opening remarks, Prof Asmaa Al-Thani emphasised that meaningful research impact cannot be achieved without responsibility and integrity. She highlighted the importance of embedding these values throughout the research process, with particular attention to protecting the rights, safety, and privacy of research participants, reinforcing the fundamental role of ethical conduct in advancing scientific excellence and maintaining public trust.
The two-day event featured scientific presentations, research poster exhibitions, interactive discussions, research network group meetings, and specialised workshops, creating valuable opportunities for researchers and healthcare professionals to exchange expertise, explore emerging scientific challenges, and identify new avenues for collaboration.
