London: Charles III was Saturday crowned monarch of the United Kingdom and 14 other Commonwealth realms after a lifetime as heir apparent to his late mother, Queen Elizabeth II. After the crowning by Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby, Charles, 74, was acclaimed with shouts of "God save the king" both within Westminster Abbey and by large crowds gathered outside.
