Umm Salal Mohammed Fort, located about 20km north of Doha, was built in the late 19th and early 20th centuries during the reign of Sheikh Mohammed bin Jasim Al Thani. The fort is distinguishable by its thick, high walls and impressive facade topped with traditional Arabian crenellations. Its ‘T’ shape is considered a unique architectural style in the Gulf region.
