Doha: Qatar Cancer Society (QCS) has concluded its awareness campaign, “I’m a Survivor...and I will Inspire You with My Story,” launched throughout June to raise awareness about people living with and beyond cancer while promoting psychological and community support for patients, survivors, and their families.
As part of the campaign, QCS launched its sustainable Individual Psychological Support Programme for Qatari Cancer Survivors, providing personalised counseling sessions to help survivors overcome the psychological and social impact of cancer, improve their quality of life, and successfully reintegrate into society.
The Society also introduced, for the first time, “I’m a Survivor... Let Me Inspire You with My Story” Podcast, a platform featuring inspiring survivor stories that promote hope, raise public awareness, reduce cancer-related stigma, and highlight the importance of psychological support throughout the cancer journey.
The campaign included publishing inspiring survivor stories, organising visits to patients at Sidra Medicine and the National Center for Cancer Care and Research (NCCCR), delivering psychological support sessions, broadcasting radio and television interviews with survivors, sending public awareness text messages, and producing educational content across social media platforms.
On this occasion, General Manager of Qatar Cancer Society Mona Ashkanani said the campaign reflects the Society’s commitment to empowering cancer survivors, enhancing their psychological well-being, and increasing community awareness of the importance of supporting them throughout their recovery.
