With business ramping up in Doha in anticipation of the 4th Annual Argumentation Conference in January, the 5th Annual Façade Design and the Engineering Mena Summit in February, Marriott International is once again focussing on bringing value to their business travellers in the Middle East.
The Renaissance Hotel, Courtyard by Marriott and Marriott Executive Apartments Doha City Center are all poised to welcome Qatar’s international visitors in 2013 since their loyalty programme, Marriott Rewards, garnered ultimate success in Business Traveler magazine’s annual “Best In Business” Travel Awards. The awards are determined by readers, who vote for their favourite products and services in 64 categories spanning the business travel industry.
John Northen, multi-property general manager for Renaissance Hotel, Courtyard by Marriott and Marriott Executive Apartments Doha City Center, commented: “Business in 2012 surpassed our expectations and we are excited looking ahead and envisioning the new heights we can soar to in 2013. Our new award from Business Traveler magazine will be an integral component to this vision, capturing new guests and welcoming back our return guests. Marriott Rewards has so many benefits for our business travellers: there are no blackout dates and members can earn and redeem points at more than 3,600 Marriott hotels around the world. In addition to hotels and frequent flyer miles, members can also redeem points for merchandise, cruises, car rentals and more, which is why it has been so well recognised.”
Speaking from Washington, Ed French, senior vice president of Marriott Rewards said, “We know our members have more choices than ever regarding loyalty programmes. We are humbled by their selection of Marriott Rewards as being the best. This award validates the changes over the past several years that we’ve made to the programme to improve the travel experience for our members, such as ‘cash + points’ and ‘elite rollover nights’.” He added, “In the coming year, our members can look forward to even more changes to recognise and reward their loyalty to Marriott, including lower thresholds for lifetime elite status.”
