ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and the United States will have the exceptionally-significant Strategic Dialogue in the last week of this month and for the purpose the US Secretary of State John Kerry may visit Pakistan in the same week.
The two countries have decided to hold the Strategic Dialogue this month instead of March agreed upon earlier. The rendezvous for the dialogue is being worked out by the two capitals through mutual consultations.
In case the US secretary of state doesn’t travel to Pakistan, Prime Minister’s Adviser on Foreign Affairs and National Security Sartaj Aziz will be visiting Washington in the last week of January.
The Strategic Dialogue was stalled for the last three years and it was agreed by the two countries that the dialogue would be resumed in March this year but it has been decided that the same would take place much before the agreed schedule.
Khan sorry for ignoring Sindh
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan yesterday tendered an apology for ignoring Sindh during his election campaign in the run up for May 11 election.
Addressing a large public gathering Khan said, “I apologise for not visiting Sindh.” He ensured the people of Sindh that Kala Bagh or any other dam could not be built until a consensus was hammered out amongst the federating units.
He said that with his Sindh visit he was now sure beyond any doubt that the elections were rigged, adding that every party had appointed their own “umpires” in the polls.
Imran reiterated his stance that Pakistan would not prosper unless the country came out of the US war.
Cop killed in hospital firing
PESHAWAR: A policeman was killed when unidentified assailants opened fire in Naseer Ullah Khan Babar Memorial Hospital in Peshawar yesterday, Geo News reported.
According to police, the incident took place on Kohat Road in Naseer Ullah Khan Babar Memorial Hospital where unknown gunmen opened fire and killed a cop.
The hospital sources have confirmed the casualty.
