The Qatar Assistive Technology Center (Mada) under the umbrella of the Ministry of Transport and Communication has announced that one of its gold sponsors for its new strategy until 2018 will be AECOM, a global engineering, consulting and project management firm with offices in the Middle East.

Mada is a nonprofit organisation dedicated to enabling persons with disabilities through the world of information and communication technology.
The partnership with AECOM Middle East will support Mada in reaching its strategic goals and achieving its operational focus until 2018.
“As a nonprofit organisation, we are always looking for partners to join us in delivering our key message and supporting persons with disabilities in reaching their maximum potential,” said Maha Al Mansoori, CEO, Mada.
“When we empower persons with disabilities, there is no limit to what they can achieve. We want to support  them tackle every aspect of life, from education to employment to entrepreneurship to independent living, by making the tools they need accessible through assistive technology and other means of access,” he said.

Mada’s strategic goals and operational focus revolve around three key areas: education, employment, and community. In its mission to help persons with disabilities stay connected in a world that is increasingly dependent on technology, Mada has established four key functions offerings: relationships and partnerships, advisors and policy, direct services, and a center of excellence. These functions together intersect to create value across the board for persons with disabilities in the country.

As a result of its efforts across its four core functions in each of its three focus areas, the nationwide awareness of persons with disabilities is naturally increasing. To keep up with the growing need for Mada’s services in Qatar, Mada will assign specific quantifiable targets for each of the four strategic objectives, and will regularly update them to help identify strengths and areas of improvement. These processes are made possible by sponsorship frompartners, such as AECOM.

“It is such an honor for us to be associated with Mada and to help them succeed in their noble cause in Qatar,” said Jason Kroll, Senior Vice President, AECOM Middle East. “We believe in Mada’s mission, in their key messages, and in their impact; and we would like to support them in creating a community that is absolutely accessible and inclusive for all, including those with disabilities.”

Kroll added, “AECOM considers itself a long-standing member of the Qatari community and we would like to give back to it in any way that we can.”

“It is a pleasure to be allied with a worthy cause. Our team at AECOM is looking forward to supporting Mada in achieving its strategic goals and operational focus”, said Ahmed Seyam, Technical Director, AECOM Middle East. He added “This is a great initiative to empower and provide communities for people with disabilities. who have tremendous potential in making a change.”
