Doha: Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani sent a cable of congratulations to Ghana President John Dramani Mahama on his country’s Independence Day.
Deputy Emir H H Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Thani sent a similar cable to Mahama.
Prime Minister and Interior Minister H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani also sent a greetings cable to Mahama.
DOHA: Social media accounts of the Ministry of Interior in Arabic (www.facebook.com/moigoveqatar) and English (www.facebook.com/moigoveqatar.en) have been verified by Facebook.
The verification was a result of using social media in communicating with the public. The ministry is making people aware about its activities, security aspects and accidents and getting feedback.
It opened its Facebook account in Arabic, English and some Asian languages in 2011. The accounts in Arabic and English have 297,736 followers. According to February statistics, these were the fastest updating accounts compared to those of other ministries where the Arabic page was ranked first and English second.The ministry thanked its followers for confidence in its accounts and feedback.
DOHA: The Primary Healthcare Corporation (PHCC) has urged people to be patient to see the positive outcome of reforms being implemented at primary health centres. Responding to public complaints about the new triaging system at the centres, PHCC said any new reform would take time to deliver expected results, local Arabic daily Al Raya reports.
The triaging system aims to reduce crowding, give each patient sufficient time with the doctor and gives preference to urgent cases. PHCC said it is studying problems and difficulties visitors face to find lasting solutions. PHCC’s aim is to improve the quality and accessibility of services at health centres. It welcomes suggestions and opinions from the public to make the study successful.
