Amil Rajesh and Salman Zubair
Doha: Two young students of the Absolute Sports Academy recently grabbed the spotlight by playing at the prestigious Asian Community Football Tournament (ACFT), organised by the Qatar Football Association.
16-year-old Salman Zubair and 15-year-old Amil Rajesh were picked to play for the senior Indian community team, which reached the final of the tournament. Despite losing to Jordan in the finals, the Indian team won plaudits for their performance in the competition, and for the decision to include the two youngsters in the line-up.
Salman, who is also a member of the MAK Qatar football team, played up front as a striker at the ACFT for India. He scored twice in the tournament.
Amil, on the other hand, is an impressive defender, who also made his mark on the tournament. The youngster was the captain of Absolute's U15 team which won an invitational tournament in Armenia last year.
The two teenagers are both students at Birla Public School and train under experienced coaches at the Absolute Sports Academy. They can now look forward to bigger opportunities which are sure to come their way after this significant achievement.
