DOHA: Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development has offered dozens of exciting career and training opportunities to talented nationals at the sixth annual Qatar Career Fair 2013.
The event, which was held under the patronage of the Heir Apparent H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, wrapped up yesterday.
This year’s theme was ‘Write the Next Chapter in Qatar’s Success’ and proved a resounding success, attracting a huge amount of interest among young nationals eager to gain valuable work experience, while making an important contribution to building their country’s future.
As one of Qatar Foundation’s most successful initiatives, the career fair this year featured over 140 public and private institutions. Job seekers were provided with useful vocational advice, including how to answer tough interview questions, plan their career, write an interesting resume and learn about the many educational and professional programmes at Qatar Foundation.
Ibrahim Al Najjar, a student at Tariq Bin Ziyad Secondary School, was grateful for the opportunity to meet with representatives from the organisation and to find out more about potential training, sponsorship, and job opportunities.
Laura Abdul Hamid, a student at Al Bayan School for girls, explained that this was the first time she had attended the career fair, but would highly recommend it to other secondary school students.
In total, over 40,000 visitors attended the six-day fair. Applicants who visited the Qatar Foundation booth received plenty of guidance, as well as the chance to engage with some very special guests who were able to share with them some of the vital elements necessary to achieving success.
