Doha, Qatar: The Qatar Meteorology Department has forecast strong winds and high seas across the country throughout the weekend, with offshore wave heights expected to rise up to 10ft at times.
In a weekend weather forecast, the department stated that conditions on Thursday, May 7, will be hot during the daytime with some clouds at times and strong northwesterly to northeasterly winds ranging between 5 and 15 knots, gusting up to 25 knots during the day.
On Friday, May 8, temperatures are expected to peak at 40°C, accompanied by strong northwesterly winds between 10 and 20 knots, with gusts reaching 30 knots at times.
Forecast for Saturday, May 9, highlighted temperature to remain hot, slight dust and some clouds at times with winds ranging from 7 to 17 knots.
The department also warned that waves heights will range between 3 and 8 feet, occasionally rising up to 10 feet over these 3 days.
In a previous marine warning issued yesterday, the department had advised the public, particularly sea-goers, to avoid marine activities due to strong winds and rough sea conditions.
