ISLAMABAD: The official website of Pakistan’s Federal Ministry of Interior was hacked yesterday. Defacing the website (www.interior.gov.pk), the hackers posted offensive remarks against Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan.
The website was hacked hours after Chaudhry Nisar’s press conference at the Punjab House in response to PPP Senator Chaudhry Aitzaz Ahsan’s speech during the joint session of the parliament on Friday. Ahsan had criticised the minister in his speech.
The hacked website also carried doctored photos of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Railway Minister Khawaja Saad Rafiq and Punjab’s former law minister Rana Sanaullah. The source said the website was hacked at around 9pm and that the ministry’s staff was trying to restore it. Internews
