MES Indian School celebrates Teachers’ Day

Doha: MES Indian School has celebrated Teachers’ Day by holding a ceremony on the virtual platform to honour teachers for their commitment and contribution to the lives of students. 

On this occasion, the crucial role played by teachers in the betterment of the younger generation was lauded. Speaking on the occasion, President of MES Governing Board, K Abdul Karim complimented teachers for their tireless efforts and unconditional support, especially in these exceptional times of the pandemic. 

“We are grateful for the sacrifices that teachers make for the betterment of students and duly acknowledge their relentless service for the growth and development of the modern society,” said Abdul Karim.

Applauding the skills of teachers in shifting to this new technology- driven teaching, Principal of MES Indian School Hameeda Kadar said that in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, teachers have exhibited great resilience and innovation in ensuring the learning process to go on ceaselessly. She also added that teachers have worked individually and collectively to find solutions and create new learning environments for their students.  

Staff Secretary of Junior Section, Kadeeja Beevi A felicitated teachers on the occasion. Teachers, who have put in 10, 15, and 20 years of service in the institution, were honoured for their meritorious service.

The recorded tributes of students hailing teachers and their noble service, rendition of medley of songs, video presentation glorifying teaching profession added colour to the programme. Sectionwise special assemblies were conducted in which students paid glowing tribute to their mentors for their guidance and support.

Among others present on the occasion were Senior Vice President Dr. Najeeb KP; Vice President Khaleel AP; Deputy General Secretary Ahamed Isham; Director, Academics Kashif Jaleel; Director, Co-Curricular & Cultural Activities MC Muhammed and other members of the school Governing Board, officials and teachers of MES and MESIS. 

Rema Devi and Fiona Mary D’ Cruz, Department of English compered the programme. Zeenath Jalal and Limia Pressi staff secretaries of their respective sections welcomed the attendees and proposed a vote of thanks respectively. 

Anver K and Sumitha Nassar, cultural coordinators of the school, coordinated the cultural segment of the event. The ICT Department under the guidance of Haroon Muhammed provided the technical support for the smooth functioning of the programme.
