Doha, Qatar: The Amir HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani received a phone call today from the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom HE Andy Burnham.
During the call, they reviewed bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to support and strengthen them in various fields, in addition to exchanging views on a number of regional and international issues, especially related to the developments in the Palestinian issue and efforts aimed at achieving a just and lasting peace based on the two-state solution.
The two sides also discussed the recent escalation in the Strait of Hormuz and its repercussions on the region and international maritime traffic, stressing the importance of reducing tensions and giving precedence to dialogue and diplomatic solutions, in a way that contributes to enhancing security and stability in the region.
