Doha: Celebrating International Women’s Day, Qatari Businesswomen Association (QBWA) organised a women mentoring walk hosted by Aspire Zone and sponsored by QNB, RAW ME, IBQ and Patton Boggs.
The walk was part of Vital Voices global mentoring walk in 53 countries around the world to mark the day.
The ‘Walk and Talk’ matched pioneer Qatari business and society women, along with a new generation of women, to provide professional advice and guidance. It included participants of Global Ambassadors Mentoring Programme, organised by Vital Voices and Bank of America in Doha last week and participants from countries from the Mena region.
QBWA aimed to connect young generation with more experienced role models to talk while walking outdoors away from the formal framework, discuss professional challenges, elements for success, and build a distinctive interactive relationship between them.
Aisha Alfardan, Vice-Chairwoman, QBWA told the participants “I thank you very much for taking time to participate in this function, this is an opportunity for women in Qatar to pay back to their society by  mentoring the new generation of women.
“I thank Aspire Zone for facilitating and hosting the walk, and our sponsors for supporting it and believing in QBWA’s efforts to empower women.
