AMU Alumni Association Qatar (Amuaaq) organised a ladies cooking competition — “Zaiqa-e-Aligarh” — at Mazza restaurant recently. Competition was divided into three categories Starter, Main Course and Dessert.
Nazia Ziauddin emerged as the winner in “Starter category”, while Ghazala Adnan and Samreen Zafar were named as joint winners in the “Main Course” category for preparing delicious “Stuu” and “Hyderabadi Biryani” respectively. Shadma Shahid Yar Khan won the prize for the “Best Dessert” for preparing tasty “GulatThi”. Shadab Ahmad Khan, owner of Red - Dot Films, was the chief guest for the evening.
Rafath Abdul Haque, owner of Deccan Deewan restaurant, Shehnaz Mirza, owner of Zaiqa restaurant and Kabab King Corner restaurant, and Rajeev Sharma, Executive Chef at Grand Regal Hotel, were the judges.
Samreen Zafar was the programme compere. Naheed Akhtar presented the welcome speech and Nazia Ziauddin introduced the Chief Guest and all three judges.
Certificates and mementos were presented to the Chief Guest, judges and all participants.
