Beirut: The Israeli occupation on Sunday morning shelled some areas in Southern Lebanon, in particular Shebaa Farms and Jabal El Sheikh, according to Lebanon's National News Agency (NNA).
Sounds of huge explosions were heard throughout the villages of Al-Arqoub and Hasbaya since the early hours of Sunday, while locations in Ruwaisat Al-Alam and the Al-Radar site were subjected to heavy artillery shelling, NNA reported.
The Israeli military said that it shelled areas in Lebanon, after mortar shells were fired from Lebanon towards Northern Israel.
UNIFIL spokesperson Andrea Tenenti told NNA last night that UNIFIL peacekeepers are deployed along the Blue Line and in their area of operations; adding that UNIFIL continues to monitor the situation and works to maintain stability and prevent misunderstandings.
