DOHA: Minister of Sports and Youth HE Salah bin Ghanem Al Ali inaugurated today, November 8, 2022, the celebration building of the Qatar Racing & Equestrian Club (QREC) in Al Rayyan.
The inauguration included a detailed presentation of the building and the facilities and the services it will provide to its visitors, including two main halls - Al Thuraya and Arabesque - to serve as venues for all kinds of occasions and functions.
The unique designs drawn from Qatari heritage were used in the construction of the building, to reflect the image of the hospitable Qatar of today.
Al Thuraya hall is characterized by a combination of floral and geometric motifs that are reflected on the walls, floor and ceilings of the hall, forming a round panel that evokes the architectural style of medieval palaces.
As for the Arabesque hall, it features an architectural design that is patterned from the civilizations of the East, where the design forms a panel that contains Qatari, Ottoman, and Asian elements from the Far East.
