ISLAMABAD: Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan will pay an official visit to Pakistan in the last week of the current month. He will be heading a big business delegation as the two brotherly countries will ink a number of bilateral agreements.
The spouse of the Turkish premier would also accompany him. Turkey is viewed one of the closest friends of Pakistan in the region. It is likely that Prime Minister Erdogan who cares for Pakistan like his own home would be decorated with the highest civil award of Pakistan in recognition of his meritorious services for strengthening the bonds of friendship and brotherhood between the two countries.
Prime Minister Erdogan is undertaking the visit from 23rd of this month on the invitation of his counterpart Nawaz Sharif. Prime Minister Nawaz also visited Turkey four months ago.
New system to deal with waste
PESHAWAR: Pakistan’s northwestern provincial capital of Peshawar will soon get a new sanitation agency along the lines of the one existing in Lahore to introduce a modern waste collection and garbage disposal system.
Also, a compost plant will be installed in the provincial capital.
A multimillion rupee project to this effect was approved by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervez Khattak during a high-level meeting in Islamabad, said an official release issued here yesterday.
According to the release, the preparatory work for the launch of the new system will begin in January 2014.
International firms will be hired to introduce the new system involving waste collection, garbage disposal and a reprocessing facility to produce energy.
