QSE Index increases by 105.74 points

Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) index gained 105.74 points  or 1.02 percent to close at 10,467.23 points yesterday. On weekly basis, the index lost 253.92 points or -2.37 percent last week.
The volume of shares traded decreased to 9.97 million yesterday from 13.38 million on Wednesday while the value of shares also decreased QR337.20m from QR494.12m on Wednesday.
From the 44 companies listed on QSE, shares of 41 saw trading yesterday. From these 27 gained and 13 companies closed lower while one company remained unchanged.
Indices of six sectors ended in green and remained one sector ended in red today. QSE Total Return Index added 1.02 percent to reach 17,244.26 points. QSE Al Rayan Islamic Index gained 0.67 percent to reach 4,087.81 points and QSE All Share Index increased 1.02 percent to 2,932.36 points.
Trading value during the last week decreased by 23.04 percent to reach QR 1.84bn compared to QR2.39bn. Trading volume decreased by 16.97 percent to reach 50.95 million shares, as against 61.37 million shares, while the number of transactions fell by 18.38 percent, to reach 20,896 transactions as compared to 25,600 transactions.
Market capitalisation fell by 2.37 percent to reach QR563.52bn as compared to QR577.21bn at the end of previous week. Banking and Financial Services sector led traded value this week with 39.29 percent of the total traded value. Real Estate sector accounted for 15.18 percent. Industries sector accounted for 14.38 percent and Consumer Goods and Services sector accounted 13.33 percent. Banking and Financial Services sector led traded volume this week with 35.38 percent of the total traded volume. Real Estate sector accounted for 23.06 percent. Telecoms sector accounted for 14.45 percent and Industries sector accounted 10.77 percent.
Banking and Financial Services sector led traded number of transactions this week with 36.39 percent of the total number of transactions. Industries sector accounted for 18.00 percent. Consumer Goods and Services sector accounted for 16.05 percent and Real Estate sector accounted for 14.48 percent.
