MANILA– Filipinos can expect a storm-free environment until weekend as good weather continue due to the easterlies affecting the country, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Thursday.
In an interview, PAGASA weather forecaster Chris Perez said that no tropical cyclone is expected to develop or enter the country until weekend.
Perez said the easterlies or warm winds from the east are affecting the eastern section of Luzon and Visayas that will bring good weather.
However, Perez said that passing rains, especially in the afternoon or evening, is still possible due to localized thunderstorms or convections.
In its Thursday forecast, PAGASA said the whole archipelago will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.
It added light to moderate winds coming from the east will prevail over Luzon and Visayas and coming from the northeast to east over Mindanao with slight to moderate seas.
He said that other parts of Luzon including Metro Manila may experience hotter days. The easterlies is expected to bring warm winds to the eastern part of the country, resulting in more humid weather.
The temperature in Metro Manila for Thursday will range 24-34 degrees Celsius.
Wednessday’s maximum temperature in Metro Manila was recorded at 34.0 at 2:50 p.m. in PAGASA’s Science Garden in Diliman, Quezon City. (PNA)
