Doha, Qatar: Following the announcement of alternative assessment, the Ministry of Education and Higher Education has issued a clarification that this announcement does not signal a transition to distance learning after the extended weekend leave.
It further confirmed that the mode of study for the coming period is still under review.
Parents and students in the country were confused, with some requesting clarification from The Peninsula, on whether this indicated a move to online learning starting next week.
The Ministry published a Frequently Asked Questions, where this was clarified among other points. It stated, "Digital assessments are a flexible solution that can be applied in both in-person and remote learning environments. The mode of study for the coming period is still under review, with updates to be announced through official channels in due course."
It added that the adoption of electronic application aims to enhance the readiness and resilience of the education system by providing a flexible evaluation method adaptable to various circumstances. "This approach ensures continuity regardless of whether classes are conducted on campus or remotely," the ministry said.
