Doha: The International Conference on Occupational Heat Stress under the theme “Application, Implementation, Practices and Exchange of Experience” will kick off today under the auspices of Minister of Labour H E Dr. Ali bin Smaikh Al Marri.
The Ministry of Labour, in collaboration with the International Labour Organization (ILO), is hosting the conference that will focus on the effects of heat stress at the workplace.
The event will explore current and future measures, challenges, and opportunities to adopt an advanced approach in mitigating the impact of heat stress on the work environment.
It will also provide a valuable platform for participants, specialists, and those interested in exchanging knowledge and experiences.
The conference will highlight successful strategies for reducing occupational heat stress and hold discussions on how to enhance workers’ protection, as well as methods to improve occupational safety and health at the workplace.
The conference, which will be held on May 9 and 10, will also address topics related to Qatar's experience, the regulatory mechanisms it has implemented to reduce heat stress and legislation regulating working hours during summer.
