Qatar imposes final anti-dumping duties on China, Malaysia-imported electric battery

Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Commerce and Industry announced its decision to impose final anti-dumping duties on electric battery imports into Qatar. 

The Ministry said, as per Decision No. 48 of 2026, final anti-dumping duties have been imposed on the State's imports of electrical preparations originating in, or exported from, the People's Republic of China and Malaysia. 

The Ministry stated that the duty rates will be from 25.8% to 74% on imports from China and from 43.2% to 77% on imports from Malaysia. The rates will be applicable according to the dumping margin of each producing or exporting company. 

This decision comes into force with the objective of combating dumping practices affecting the State's imports of electric accumulators, supporting the competitiveness of national products and combating harmful practices affecting them in international trade. 

The Ministry added that this step implements measures approved by the Industrial Cooperation Committee of the Gulf Cooperation Council regarding the imposition of final anti-dumping duties on the covered imports. 

It is a measure to regulate imports of electric accumulators originating in or exported from the People's Republic of China and Malaysia, in accordance with the customs heading and Harmonized System code specified in the decision.

- Applies to products listed under heading No. 8507 and Harmonized System code 85071000 of the Integrated Customs Tariff of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries
