Doha, Qatar: The Amir HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and his brother HM Sultan Haitham bin Tariq of the Sultanate of Oman held a meeting at Amiri Diwan this morning.
At the outset of the meeting, HH the Amir welcomed HM the Sultan and his accompanying delegation, wishing him continued health and well-being and the fraternal relations between the two countries further development and growth.
HH the Amir praised the deep-rooted historical relations between the State of Qatar and the Sultanate of Oman, affirming the State of Qatar's commitment to continued strengthening of cooperation and partnership between the two countries in a manner that fulfills the aspirations of their two brotherly peoples and serves their shared interests.
For his part, HM Sultan Haitham bin Tariq expressed his thanks and appreciation to HH the Amir for the warm reception and generous hospitality. He also expressed his pleasure at the visit and meeting with HH the Amir, affirming the Sultanate of Oman's commitment to strengthening cooperation and coordination between the two countries to further consolidate their longstanding fraternal relations and open up broader prospects for cooperation across various fields.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed the close fraternal relations between the two countries and ways to strengthen and develop them at various levels, and exchanged views on several issues of mutual interest.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense Affairs HE Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani, Minister of Interior and Commander of the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya) HE Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad Al-Thani, Chief of the Amiri Diwan HE Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Khulaifi, Minister of State for Energy Affairs HE Saad bin Sherida Al Kaabi, Minister of Commerce and Industry HE Sheikh Faisal bin Thani Al-Thani, Minister of Transport HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Thani, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs HE Sultan bin Saad Al Muraikhi, and several of Their Excellencies the sheikhs.
On the Omani side, the meeting was attended by Minister of State and Governor of Muscat HH Sayyid Bilarab bin Haitham Al Said, Minister of the Diwan of Royal Court HE Sayyid Khalid bin Hilal Al Busaidi, Minister of the Royal Office HE General Sultan bin Mohammed Al Numani, Minister of Interior HE Sayyid Hamoud bin Faisal Al Busaidi, Minister of Energy and Minerals HE Eng. Salim bin Nasser Al Aufi, and several of Their Excellencies, members of the accompanying official delegation.
Following the meeting, the Amir HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani held a luncheon banquet in honor of his brother HM the Sultan and his accompanying delegation, attended by a number of Their Excellencies the sheikhs, ministers, and senior officials from both sides.
