RABAT: Senior officials from the foreign ministries of the GCC countries and Morocco have adopted detailed working plans aiming at pushing forward the implementation of the strategic partnership agreement between the two sides.
During a meeting for the GCC-Moroccan joint committee in Rabat yesterday, the officials approved detailed action plans for eight working teams in the economic, social, cultural and legal fields.
The plans include programs and implementation mechanisms according to specific timetables during the period 2013 - 2018.
The meeting was co-chaired by Undersecretary of Bahrain's Foreign Ministry Hamad Al-Amer, and Director of the East, Gulf and the Arab and Islamic organizations Department at the Moroccan Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation Ahmed Al-Tazi.
The GCC Assistant General-Secretary for Negotiations Affairs and Strategic Dialogue Dr. Abdulaziz Hamad Al-Owayshiq said that the meeting came within the framework of the implementation of the strategic partnership agreement between the two sides.
Dr. Al-Owayship noted that a joint meeting would be held between the GCC foreign ministers and the Moroccan Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation in November 2013 in Kuwait.
To review the progress in the strategic partnership program and coordinate on the regional and international issues of common interest. (QNA)
