DOHA: For the first time, the combined assets of Qatar banks have crossed QR1 trillion mark. This was announced by H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Saud Al Thani, Governor of Qatar Central Bank and Chairman of Qatar Financial Centre (QFC) Authority here yesterday. Speaking during the 9th annual Multaqa Qatar Forum,the Governor said the banks’ assets grew by 10.4 percent year-on-year in 2014. The combined assets of Qatar banks stood at QR910bn at the end of 2013. The collective asset base of all listed banks in Qatar increased by QR105.8bn in 2014, up 12 percent year-on-year.
