The public stand of Qatar on international and Arab issues does not need an expert to analyse its meaning. It is clear like sunshine, and expressed well by the commitment of the leadership and people of Qatar to the welfare of humans, who are the best resource.
Qatar has made many enemies with its positive stand, and they are trying to fish in troubled waters by defaming it. They are making accusations, as many parties are doing, when talking about Qatar’s politics.
Qatar is used to such behaviour, copes well with it, and in the end emerges victorious.
The last false accusation was made by the Egyptian regime during an Arab League meeting. It claimed that Qatar supported and encouraged terrorism, because it had objected to an Egyptian air raid against the Libyan people. The raid caused civilian casualties, with many killed and injured. There was no acceptable excuse for this action and it was carried out without an Arab agreement on dealing with terrorism in the region.
The false accusation proves, once again, the failure of Egyptian policy at a time when the country is suffering under military rule. No concrete steps are on the horizon to support Arab unity.
Some people may think that accusing Qatar of supporting terrorism will get them support from those who oppose Qatar’s policies and the way it spends its money.
This is a false notion. Thanks to Qatar’s policy of openness and the wise directions of the Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, it has gained respect in the region and internationally as it is always willing to solve conflicts and disputes.
Qatar also has a say in all diplomatic work that aims at protecting human beings, developing societies and defusing tension to establish a world that is more peaceful and secure.
It is also working on a balanced political approach committed to international law for the sake of supporting truth and standing by the oppressed.
Qatar has been subjected to unjust accusations by the media and press outlets of the Egyptian regime that have descended to the level of insults.
Qatar does not respond to such insults because that would not be in keeping with the culture and high moral principles of the Qatari leadership.
The political discourse of Qatar will not descend to such petty levels. Are the enemies of Qatar blaming it for objecting to the slaughter of civilians in Libya and accusing the perpetrator?
These air strikes targeted civilians without approval from Arab regimes. No precautions were taken to spare the blood of innocent people in these air strikes.
Qatar made its stand known as it knows that an unjust act will lead to unreasonable behaviour.
The GCC countries and the people of the free world support Qatar. This provides more credibility to Qatar and its diplomacy. Qatar is proud of its stand and is sure that no harm will come from attempts to defame it.
Qatar will never bend to terrorism and its supporters; it is going with its head held high amid free nations, bearing moral and legal responsibility for its actions. Qatar makes its stand clear, fearing no one but God Almighty.
Accusations by those who kill their own people in cold blood will strengthen Qatar’s will and determination to fight fascism and terrorism, turning the tables on those who plot against it.
