Doha, Qatar: Hospitals crippled by months of Israeli attacks have appealed for help as they struggle to treat the injured. Meanwhile, the health ministry in the Strip has also issued an urgent call to provide fuel for hospital generators.

A ministry statement warned that failure to provide fuel to hospitals would mean “certain death” for patients amid ongoing Israeli attacks on the territory.

The ministry accused the Israeli army of “intentionally” destroying electric generators at Gaza hospitals, including Al-Shifa Medical Complex, the Nasser Hospital, the Indonesian Hospital, and Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza.

At least 37,124 people have been killed and 84,712 injured in Israel’s war on Gaza since October 7.

[7:00pm Doha Time] Gaza’s hospitals overwhelmed by wounded from Israeli attacks

Gaza’s damaged, underequipped and understaffed hospitals are in a dire state eight months into Israel’s war on Gaza.

The collapse in Gaza’s health system in the face of massive Israeli bombardment has complicated a host of other unfolding disasters, from hunger to spreading disease. It has left those with chronic conditions unable to access basic care.

The war has also brought sudden influxes of badly injured people into the few operating hospitals even as they struggle to access medical supplies, overwhelming doctors and nurses.

“We placed the injured along the internal corridors and in between beds. There is no room at all inside this hospital. We had them sleep in external tents,” said Dr Khalil al-Dakran of Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital.

There are now four times more wounded people at the hospital than beds for them, he added.

[5:00pm Doha Time] Pro-Palestine protesters target UK’s Barclays bank branches with red paint

Pro-Palestine activists have targeted 20 Barclays branches in England and Scotland, urging divestment from Israel’s weapons trade.
Some branches were also vandalised and had their windows broken.

According to the group Palestine Action, the protests were carried out to “demand the bank divests from Israel’s weapons trade and fossil fuels”. It said it will continue targeted actions until Barclays stops investing in certain companies.

[4:29pm Doha Time] Women-led organisations in Gaza keep operating despite war damage

The vast majority of women-led organisations in Gaza have sustained damage to their offices during the war, according to a survey by UN Women.

Thirty-five percent of the organisations have had their offices completely destroyed, it said.

Nevertheless, more than half of women-led organisations have continued operating at full capacity, relying on a large volunteer network to provide life-saving assistance and relief.

“Despite all their suffering and deprivation, Palestinian women, and the organisations they lead, are… at the heart of the current humanitarian response”, said the UN organisation.

[3:13pm Doha Time] Israel keeps Rafah crossing closed amid ‘imminent’ famine: PRCS

The Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) has said Israel continues to close Gaza’s Rafah border crossing with Egypt “amid imminent acute levels of famine across the Gaza Strip”.

“This enforcement of collective punishment on the Palestinian population in Gaza not only further exacerbates the humanitarian situation in the Strip, but also comes as a direct violation of the International Court of Justice’s May Order on Provisional Measures and international humanitarian law,” the medical charity said on X.

[2pm Doha Time] Israel destroyed over half of Gaza’s buildings: UN

More than half of the buildings in the Gaza Strip have been destroyed by Israeli attacks since October 7, according to the UN agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA).

“The destruction in Gaza is indescribable,” it said on X, citing data from the United Nations Satellite Center (UNOSAT).

“Clearing the rubble will take years. Healing from the psychological trauma of this war will take even longer,” UNRWA added, calling for a ceasefire.

“This suffering must come to an end,” it said.

[1pm Doha Time] Gaza’s death toll rises

Israeli attacks in Gaza have killed 40 people and injured 218 in the last 24 hours, according to Gaza’s Health Ministry.

This brings the total number of people killed in the enclave since October 7 to 37,124, with 84,712 injured, the ministry said.

[12pm Doha Time] Dozens killed, injured in Rafah

Five Palestinians have been found killed and 30 more have been injured in Gaza’s southern district of Rafah, report our colleagues at Al Jazeera Arabic, citing a local medical source.

The victims have been brought to Nasser Hospital, but electricity shutdowns there could make it difficult for the injured to receive treatment, according to the report.

[11am Doha Time] Israeli forces arrest 30 in latest West Bank raids

Most of the arrests were in Bethlehem governorate, with some in the governorates of Qalqilya, Jenin, Nablus, Ramallah, Hebron, Salfit, Jerusalem, and Tubas, according to the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society.

Among those arrested were a woman and several minors who had previously been imprisoned.

In total, Israeli forces have made 9,155 arrests in the occupied West Bank since October 7.

[10am Doha Time] Al Aqsa Hospital overwhelmed with injured and lack of facilities

Al-Aqsa Hospital in Deir el-Balah has been appealing to the international community to intervene to provide it with medical supplies and fuel, as it is currently working with only one generator. Due to the huge amount of injuries it has received in the past few days, the hospital is overwhelmed.

Al Jazeera journalist reported that there have been a couple of air strikes in the area after the Israeli forces withdrew, as well as intensive artillery shelling throughout the night.

[9:30am Doha Time] Overnight attacks hit Gaza City, Rafah: Report

Israeli attacks overnight have killed and injured more Palestinians from the north to the south of Gaza, reports the Wafa news agency.

According to its reports, they include:

-Bombardment of a family home in Gaza City’s Shujaya neighbourhood, which killed two people and injured others, and artillery attacks on homes in Gaza City’s Zeitoun and Tal al-Hawa neighbourhoods.

[9am Doha Time] Australian police investigating after US’s Sydney consulate daubed with ‘Free Gaza’

Police in Australia are investigating after the US Consulate in Sydney was vandalised early on Monday.

Images shared on social media showed the words “FREE GAZA” daubed in red paint on the consulate’s windows, and inverted red triangles painted over the US insignia on the glass. The building, in the city’s northern suburbs, was cordoned off behind police tape. Sky News reported that the windows had been smashed at least 13 times with a hammer.

Police said security camera footage from the early hours of the morning showed a person in a hoodie spray painting the windows. They also appeared to be carrying a small sledgehammer.

Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese condemned the vandalism.

“People should have respectful political debate and discourse,” he told reporters after being asked about the incident. “Measures such as painting the US consulate do nothing to advance the cause of those who have committed what is of course a crime to damage property.”
