Doha: Qatar Club cultural committee will hold Eid festival for the local press this evening at Dafna Club. The event, being organised for the 10th consecutive year, will feature cultural and entertainment events under the auspices of Qatargas and RAF Charity and with the participation of the Egyptian community.
Mohammed Sultan Fakhro, Chairman of the committee, said the festival is part social activities of the club and includes surprises such as games and entertainment programmes and a draw offering gifts to the public.
During Ramadan, Sheikh Thani bin Abdullah Foundation for Humanitarian Services (RAF) announced charity projects and allocated QR16m, of which QR10m will be spent in Qatar. From 32 countries last year, RAF has expanded its reach to 49, including 15 countries in the Arab region, nine in Africa, 13 in Asia, eight in Europe and four in Latin America, the Director-General of RAF, Ayid Al Qahtani, said.
