Hot, humid weather continues, expected to moderate slightly during Al Nathra star period

Doha: Qatar is set to experience a 13-day period characterised by hot and humid conditions as the Al Nathra star rises on August 11, 2026, according to the Qatar Meteorology Department (QMD).

QMD said Al Nathra, known locally as Al Kulaibain, is the sixth of the summer stars and marks the final period of Jamrat Al-Qayz, a traditional term referring to the most intense phase of the summer heat.

During the period, hot and humid weather will continue, while winds will generally be northerly.

QMD added that the Suhail star becomes visible around the middle of the Al Nathra period, when the weather begins to moderate slightly.

According to the department, the Al Nathra period lasts for 13 days, beginning on August 11.
