Emir chairs Economic Affairs Council meeting

Doha: The Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Chairman of the Supreme Council For Economic Affairs and Investment, yesterday presided over the council’s fourth meeting at the Emiri Diwan.

The Prime Minister and Interior Minister H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani attended. 
The Minister of Finance 
H E Ali Sheriff Al Emadi said the council discussed topics on the agenda, followed up on implementation of previous decisions and discussed latest developments in the industrial and petrochemicals sector. 
It also reviewed Qatar Petroleum International’s projects and approved Qatar Petroleum’s request regarding an agreement on development partners and amended financial conditions required for Ras Laffan 3.
Qatar welcomes new Iraq govt
Doha: Qatar welcomed the formation of a new Iraqi government, headed by Haider Al Abadi, after gaining the confidence of parliament. 
The Foreign Ministry, in a statement, expressed Qatar’s aspiration that the new government would bring a prosperous future for Iraq. 
The ministry hoped that this would be a step towards preserving Iraq’s unity, security and stability.
Qatar to attend GCC meeting
Doha: Qatar is to attend the 18th meeting of the GCC justice undersecretaries in Kuwait today.
Qatar’s delegation headed by the Undersecretary, Sultan bin Abdullah Al Suwaidi, yesterday left for Kuwait for the two-day meeting.
Talks will deal with issues such as a decision of the GCC Supreme Council issued during its 34th summit in Kuwait in 2014 to follow up implementation of decisions related to joint action and the proposal of the Secretariat (Legal Affairs Sector) to involve member states as a group to conclude legal and judicial cooperation agreements with other countries or international groups.
It will also review a draft agreement on the extradition of criminals among GCC states.
Working hours at embassy section
Doha: The consular section at the Indian embassy will revert from September 16 to the following timings:
Submission of applications from 9am to 12.15pm and collection of documents after rendering of consular service from 4pm to 5.15pm.
