DOHA: The harsh weather disrupted the second day of the fourth Qatar International Falcons and Hunting Festival at Sabkhat Marm in Sealine.
Due to the bad weather 12 competitors were not able to participate in the contest yesterday. Mohamad Abdulatif Al Misnad, Deputy Head of the organising committee, said the committee held a meeting and decided to delay the competition for the 12 remaining participants because of bad weather and would inform them of the new schedule in the coming days.
He urged the participants to be available two hours before the start of the contest to avoid misunderstanding of the directives and requirements.
The second group of participants, however, was able to finish the competition and two winners were chosen — Mohammad Abdullah Al Hamadi and Salem Ahmad Al Mahmoud. Hamad Abdullah Al Arjani, committee member, said the second group included 47 participants and some of them have been excluded because they did not come on time. Participants from GCC countries did well at yesterday’s competition.
