Protesters occupy South Africa’s national highway, the N1, and advance on police throwing rocks during a rally in De Doorns, yesterday. Farm workers across the Western Cape are on a wage strike demanding that their salary of about 65 rands ($7.5) a day be doubled. More than 40 arrests have been made. Police used rubber bullets and stun grenades to control the protests.
