Doha: Qatar University College of Law (QU-LAWC) held a welcoming ceremony to honour Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales, Lord Thomas of Cwmgiedd. The event also included a presentation by LAWC students on their Moot Court experiences as well as one by faculty detailing the College’s programmes, courses and opportunities for students.
Lord Thomas was greeted by QU President Professor Sheikha Abdulla Al Misnad, LAWC Dean Dr Mohamed Al Khulaifi, faculty and students. He emphasised the importance of the Rule of Law and access to justice for all people.
Students Noor Al Mullah and Haneen Yousef presented insights into students’ participation in Moot Court competitions at LAWC and abroad. LAWC Assistant Professor Dr Jon Truby outlined the College’s efforts to prepare well-qualified law graduates to enter the labour market, and its commitment to advancing legal education in Qatar and the region.
