DOHA: The dusty weather is likely to continue until tomorrow, but the winds wouldn’t be as high as before, so dust and sand hanging in the air will be light.
When told that it was quite unusual for high winds to stir up dust and sand in Qatar this time of the year, a veteran weatherman said there hadn’t been enough rains this winter so the surface remained dry.
That is why when there are high winds blowing from the direction of desert areas, they stir up a lot of dust and sand, the weatherman told this newspaper.
According to him, there were chances of scattered rains last night and that could settle the dust and sand hanging in the air.
Asked to give more details about the rains forecast, particularly if they were expected in Doha as well, he said that to say with certainty if it will rain and if it did, where exactly it will, was next to impossible.
“All I can say is that the dusty weather wouldn’t continue after tomorrow and is gradually losing its intensity,” said the weatherman.
Meanwhile, the routine weather forecast for tomorrow said that high winds will continue to blow affecting visibility.
The seas will be rough and wind speed could reach up to 18 and 30 knots per hour. Inshore, southeasterly to southerly winds could gather speed up to 10 to 20 and at times 26 knots an hour.
Day temperatures could soar up to 33 degrees C while at night the mercury level will likely average at between 19 and 22 degrees C.
In Doha, the temperature expected is between 27 degrees C and 22 degrees. Abu Sara will witness huge temperature difference as the maximum forecast here is 33 degrees C and the minimum, 19 degrees. the peninsula
