DOHA: H E Abdullah bin Hamad Al Attiyah, ex-energy and industry minister and the President of the Qatar Administrative Control and Transparency Authority, was recently offered the post of Secretary-General of Opec, which he refused. Al Attiyah said few months ago he had received a proposal from different Opec member countries and even an official delegation had come to meet him. He said that he was against the idea of moving to headquarters of OPEC in Vienna, Austria. About oil prices, he said that it will not be good idea for Opec to cut production to raise oil prices because it has just 30 percent market share.
